Estate agency firm announces sudden death at 57 of managing director

An estate agency has announced the sudden death of its managing director at the age of 57.

Alan Gough, of Fraser Wood in the west midlands, died from a suspected heart attack while at the wheel of his car.

He had been on a canoeing trip with a friend in the Lake District. The car was in slow-moving traffic when it left the road and no one else was injured.

He had joined the firm, which was established in 1845, at the age of 18. He was well-known locally and did a great deal of charity work.

Mr Gough, a chartered surveyor, leaves a wife, son and daughter.
