Estate agencies transform offices for launch of 2024 winter coat campaign

For the 11th consecutive year, London estate agency Chestertons is turning its network of over 30 branches across the capital into Coat Drive collection points, while Chase Buchanan has also announced that it will also be collecting coats at some of its offices across the capital for the first time.

Members of the public can donate their unwanted coats, fleeces and gilets between 21 October to 23 November. In partnership with the Calling London charity, Chestertons is aiming to collect 6,000 warm winter coats and jackets, while Chase Buchanan is aiming to collect as many warm winter coats and jackets as possible, which will then be distributed to vulnerable Londoners.

Last year, Chestertons received over 5,000 donations and, since first supporting the initiative in 2013, has collected an astonishing total of more than 20,000 winter garments.

Sara Scasseddu, senior marketing executive at Chestertons, said: “For 11 years, we’ve proudly supported Calling London’s coat drive, and each year we see how essential this initiative has become. As financial pressures increase, so does the number of people in need of warm coats and jackets. We’re incredibly thankful for the dedication of our staff, the generosity of the public, and the involvement of local schools and community groups. A single coat can provide warmth and comfort, making a real difference for those struggling during the colder months.”

Myles Moloney, director at Chase Buchanan, which will be participating in the charity event for the first time, commented: “Chase Buchanan is thrilled to announce our support for Calling London’s Coat Drive this year. After learning about the significant impact the initiative has had from our partners in the wider Campions Group, we felt compelled to get involved and contribute.

“Thanks to the kindness of our community and staff, those in need will now have a warm coat to help them through the winter months. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported this cause and look forward to continuing our involvement in the coming years.”

Once the Coat Drive ends on 23 November, donations are taken to a sorting centre before being distributed to over 30 charities helping the homeless, victims of domestic abuse, those living in poverty, the elderly, refugees and children.

Frances Manthos, founder of Calling London, added: “As winter approaches, many Londoners are struggling to afford warm clothing, especially with rising household costs. The kindness and support of the public are more important than ever. We urgently need coats for babies, children, and adults of all sizes to help those most in need.”
