easyProperty set to spend millions on football sponsorship

easyProperty is said to be in talks with Tottenham Hotspur to sponsor the Premier League club in a multi-million pound deal.

According to yesterday’s Sunday Telegraph, easyProperty boss Robert Ellice has been in talks with two London-based clubs, but is now looking to seal a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

Ellice told the paper: “We have always stated our intention to market our brand extensively and to as wide an audience as possible.

“The Premier League provides opportunities for this in a way that few others can.”

Football sponsorships come at a heavy price: Zoopla reportedly paid £3m to sponsor West Brom over a two-year period.

To me this sounds like it’s not gone as planned.

This is just an absolute classic. Ellice clearly thinks he’s Alan Sugar, Megalomania in the extreme: how many big-I-am’s  have there been over the years ploughing cash into football clubs just to feed their own ego’s. I bet the investors will love hearing this news, £1m quids worth of crowdfunding investors are certainly getting value for money!

We once sponsored Millwall as it was the local club. We bought the East Stand – now the Dockers stand – from Theo the day he stepped down as chairman. It was good value – especially at the following month Sky started filming Dream team at the New Den. That said, whilst it was great PR locally, I don’t think we ever received and instruction from a West Ham Fan as they both ignored us. 😉

Ploughing a tenner into a soon to be relegated lower league club like Millwall isn’t the same as a multi million pound premier league deal.

Thank god for agent Lomas. West Ham legend.

In fairness, it was a few years ago and they did make the FA Cup final…

Before you are all too harsh it really is down to Easyproperty to do what it like with its cash and marketing spend. If Easyproperty thinks it can afford to spend  traditionally about  10% of its turnover buying  brand awareness for a  few very localised North West London postcode districts fair play to them, its their money.

So let’s see £2 million  for Spurs another £2 mill for  Gunners just in case some vendors  and landlords support the local rivals.  £4,000,000 quid divide 10  times 100 , personally at  £40,000,000 turnover it seems Easyproperty must be doing very well for themselves. By my reckoning the must be  selling about 5% of all the completion in the country.  Don’t knock it til you can match it?

AIA pay Spurs £20 million a year for the shirt and it’s a 5 year deal. This is likely a much smaller deal to be “official property partner”.

Mind you, looking on the bright side – when it goes t!ts-up for them you can crow that you would never do something ‘so 90s’ as that! ;o)

Easyproperty and Spurs……….the perfect match …..similar ambition, but ultimately not good enough to succeed.

If they sponsor the ground they might as well call it “easypoints lane”

Easyproperty is quickly becoming the number 1 choose for landlords that are local to a property and just want a tenant find service.    It is also not a bad  option for “part management” for a landlord that is local, but spends lots of time away from home.

I suppose if one considers the rate at which man evolved from apes or the rate that the polar ice cap is melting then yes I guess we have to give you that one.

I guess we all know who you work for now then Ringi, perhaps given your perception of fast you should start seeking alternative employment – at say warp 10?!

Nice, the poor souls / little investors that put in their hard earned cash can see it being spanked on a vanity marketing exercise with a footie club………will it just look like the airline advertising?? if the big idea from EP on marketing is sponsoring football shirts it all smells a bit ego driven and certainly isnt ‘disruptive’ etc – @easychris the marketing gob on a stick looks out of ideas already, better to keep hammering private listings on Gumtree? – Jonnie
