easyProperty prices do not change despite email marketing campaign

Prices have not gone up at easyProperty despite an email marketing campaign this summer telling consumers that time was running out to buy “our current low cost packages”.

easyProperty had seemed to say in the campaign that it was due to be upping its fees on September 3.

However, easyProperty is continuing to charge the same £295 upfront and a completion fee of £595.

One contact told us that as a result, easyProperty agents are having to deal with angry customers who signed up during the campaign.

We asked easyProperty boss Jon Cooke about the situation but he said that it was straightforward.

He told EYE: “We told customers the price would be going up at some stage.

“We have the packages ready, however we need to train the agents first as it involves a process change so we are likely to delay for 2/3 weeks.”

EYE understands that the price change involves withdrawing the current £295 upfront fee plus £595 completion package, and offering instead an £849 upfront fee, or a ten-month deferred option.

Surely this is out of order. To incite a customer to purchase a product by reason of a promoted forthcoming price increase which does not happen on time is mis-selling.

It says it all really when the former CEO of GPEA and the driving force behind the “Reverse merger” of Fine & Country and EasyProperty, Malcolm Lindley terminates his own licence covering Cambridgeshire for EasyProperty. #doomed
