Does the Renters (Reform) Bill provide agents with an opportunity to unlock new revenue streams?

A free webinar being hosted by Goodlord will explore how agents can get ahead of the Renters (Reform) Bill and potentially benefit from the market changes the landmark legislation is set to bring in 2024.

On Tuesday 28th November at 10am, Laura Tweedy, barrister at Gatehouse Chambers, and Sean Hooker, head of redress at the Property Redress Scheme, will join Goodlord’s managing director of Insurance, Oli Sherlock, for the session, which will outline how agents should be preparing for the incoming Renters (Reform) Bill and how they can get ahead of the changes.

With timelines and the final shape of the bill still uncertain, many agents are unsure how to move forward and where to focus their strategic planning. The webinar panel will provide guidance on where to focus and what action should be taken now and into 2024.

The panel will focus on supply and demand pressures, outcomes from the Second Reading, such as changes to Section 21 and the courts process, and the implications of the Committee Stage, such as introducing a Decent Homes Standard to the private rented sector.

The discussion will also dive into how agents can take advantage of an uncertain market, whilst remaining compliant, what further changes to expect from the political calendar and a possible general election, as well as how they can support and reassure their existing landlords through the changes.

Sherlock commented: “With the Bill now in the committee stages and multiple amendments already tabled, we are now at a crucial junction. These reforms are wide-ranging and could be disruptive to businesses. However, there are golden opportunities that savvy agents can seize to turn this into an opportunity to grow and unlock new revenue streams. We hope this webinar shines a light on those opportunities and how to capitalise on them.”

I can’t see how it’s going to benefit anyone other than the tenants.
