Demand for part-exchange at all-time high as secondhand market struggles

Another estate agent is reporting booming conditions for its part-exchange business.

LSL has in recent days reported doubling staff numbers in this part of its business, and now Spicerhaart says that its part exchange and assisted move division has had a hugely successful first half of the year.

Instructions are up by 235 compared with the same period last year, exchanges are up 29% and staff numbers have more than doubled.

The business, which is relocating to new and larger offices in Sheffield in October, is actively recruiting as it continues to expand.

Spicerhaart Part Exchange and Assisted Move had a record year last year, and says it is on course for another this year.

It says that its business is benefiting from generally poor conditions in the property market, with few listings and little choice in secondhand homes prompting people to move into new-builds – especially where part-exchange is available.

Jan Biggins, sales manager at Spicerhaart Part Exchange and Assisted Move, said: “Demand for part-exchange is at an all-time high.”
