This week’s Agents MVMT podcast ‘Pass the Syrup’, presented by Ben Madden, features Perry Power of Power Bespoke, Victoria Brookes of Moss Properties and Charly Saunders of William H Brown.
The guests give their views on the security and protection of agents and whether businesses are doing enough, as well as the recent data showing a larger than average reduction in asking prices this August.
Guests are also asked to talk about great agents they’ve worked with, give their feedback on a current Agents Together challenge mentees are facing, and any tips for agents in the current climate.
If you would like to take part in the Agents MVMT initiative, provide a feature or be a guest on the podcast, contact Ben Madden directly at ben.madden@fineandcountry.com.
Sad state of affairs when the staff need to be worried about personal protection, what’s the country coming to.
Viewing ID should now be compulsory not just to help protect staff but crimes. Any doubts go in pairs, smartphone on video but not necessarily in your face operation. Sticking a GoPro on your head or chest …… really isn’t the right image. Simple self defence training will get you out of most situations and never view on your own, late in the evening.
I’m not seeing rise in incidents but then it could be different in other areas of the UK, but is it a rising problem or scaremongering, limited to a few incidents? Half the problem is attitudes escalate and it gets out of hand. Walk away and call the police if necessary.

Agent safety really hasn’t improved in line with tech – i.e. mobile phones etc.. Since launching Viewber, who’s main job is doing viewings, we added a couple of years ago a simple app called ViewBuddy allowing users to have two or three buddies they can input when going to an appt.. It alerts those buddies if they don’t log in after a set time period with a prompt to call them. Enterijg a PIN in reverse activates a silent alarm to the buddies and the app uses What3Words for a precise location. It’s now used by Connells and Leaders Romans amongst others. Keep it simple…..and it’s free as we developed for Viewbers. Look on our website under resources.
