The Conveyancing Association (CA) has announced full details of its 2025 Annual Conference agenda.
Taking place on Thursday 30th January, once again at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel in Manchester, this year’s Conference is entitled ‘Past, present and future – where is the conveyancing industry up to and what can we expect in the future?’ and will reflect on where the sector currently is and where it is heading.
In 2020, the CA identified 2030 as a realistic target for achieving a digital end-to-end conveyancing process, and with 2025 being the half-way point, the Association wants to use the conference to take stock of where the industry currently stands and to chart a course for the next five years.
Chaired by CA Advisor, Eddie Goldsmith, the full list of sessions for the Conference have now been announced and include:
+ The Economy and Housing Marketing 2025: Behavioural Economist, Roger Martin-Fagg, will combine insight into financial and policy worlds with management strategy.
+ Headline Sponsor, Landmark’s presentation, will focus on Data Technology and AI from Rob Gurney, Managing Director at Ochresoft; followed by a panel session on sustainability, facilitated by Chris Loaring, Director of Sustainability at Landmark.
+ Ed Boulle from Orbital Witness will look specifically at AI in Conveyancing, followed by a panel session on the topic, facilitated by the CA’s Director of Delivery, Beth Rudolf, featuring panellists from TM Group, Dye & Durham UK, PEXA and WNS.
In both the morning and the afternoon there will also be four specific discussion groups running in parallel. Delegates will be able to choose to attend sessions on:
+ Social Media, Marketing & PR – David Gilroy from Stuff & Things, Conscious Solutions.
+ Pricing Models within the Conveyancing Industry – a panel session facilitated by David Bridge of Kiteleys Solicitors and featuring Victoria Mortimer (Knights), Geoff Hall (Gordon Brown Law) and Mark Slade (Fidler & Pepper).
+ Talent attraction: industry challenge or strategic opportunity from recruitment? – Nick Hale, ONP.
+ Using Technology in Conveyancing – a panel session facilitated by the CA’s Beth Rudolf, and featuring panellists from inCase, Thirdfort, Armalytix, Post Partner and Orbital Witness.
The CA Annual Dinner will follow the Annual Conference with Stewart Title as the main Drinks Reception Sponsor. Once again the CA will be raising money for The Children’s Society Charity via the Dinner which will include full entertainment and Propertymark sponsoring our evening raffle price. The Dinner is open to all CA member firms, legal and affiliate, while attendance can also be secured for non-members for a charge.
Nicky Heathcote, non-executive chair of The CA, said: “We are now just a couple of weeks away from what is the jewel in the event crown for the Conveyancing Association, our Annual Conference & Dinner, taking place once again in Manchester. The agenda has now been set and we believe we are offering a range of excellent sessions to choose from straddling some of the biggest challenges facing conveyancing firms in today’s market, particularly the economy and housing market, and the impact of AI.
“Split between the morning and afternoon sessions, ticking all the CPD boxes, through the topics, speakers and panellists, we’ll endeavour to provide attendees with a range of perspectives, plus some tangible solutions and strategies to take away in order to make a success of whatever market conditions we are dealt, and how we might use AI to tackle some of them.
“It promises to be an excellent day with lots of information to be gleaned, networking to be achieved, and fun to be had at the Annual Dinner. We are very fortunate to have so many affiliate members in attendance at the exhibition, plus both our headline sponsor, Landmark, and our drinks reception sponsor, Stewart Title.
“Everyone on the CA team is looking forward to welcoming the entire industry, but particularly our legal member firms, to Manchester on the 30th for what promises to be a Conference & Dinner not to be missed. Whether your firm is a CA member or you just want to see what we are all about, while also embracing CPD that is actually interesting and useful in your role, then please visit the Conference website to get booked in.”
