Complaint about tenancy referencing provider is resolved informally

A complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority about tenancy referencing and insurance provider Let Alliance has been informally resolved.

An ASA spokesperson said: “An email selling insurance was sent to a renter with the subject line ‘We are now at the final stage of referencing’.

“The complainant challenged whether the ad was misleading because the insurance product was not essential and whether the ad was obviously identifiable as a marketing communication.

“The advertiser provided an assurance that they would address the issue.”
