Complaint about eMoov to advertising watchdog resolved informally

A complaint about eMoov over claimed savings has been resolved informally.

It centred around a comparison tool on the eMoov site which showed how much a consumer might save versus a traditional agent’s fee.

The complainant challenged whether the savings claim calculated was misleading because the traditional agent fee did not include VAT.

eMoov agreed to ensure VAT was included and to add a statement that this was the case.

It is understood that the company comment was that the ASAs attention to their business is appreciated.

Funny, that – if they actually played the game by the rules the ASA would have no interest in their “business” whatsoever.

YET ANOTHER sit on the naughty step for The Quirkster’s outfit.

To be fair I am sure they did appreciate the attention to their business, after all, the ASA are about the only ones that seem to be.

They have got to be struggling badly now I would think.

Has anyone else noticed how  TV’s  Dragon’s Den  serial entrepreneur  backer James Caan  never seems to get a mention or a look in when the publicity isn’t quite so positive?  In fact  I can’t remember when the high profile, businessman backer from TV’s Dragon’s Den last got mentioned at all.

Is serial entrepreneur from TV’s Dragon’s Den, James Caan  still backing this project? If so it would be  good to hear how he thinks his investment is shaping up.

We used to hear so much about James Caan; every strory had a mention of James Caan ( serial investor and businessman from TV’s Dragon’s Den) I wonder how he feels  now he has been replaced by ASA (the advertising standards watchdog) as their (Emoov) bestest buddies who get a mention in seemingly every story now.

If that happens his best friend, his father, brother,  his own children, VC’s, industry insiders, a large  proportion of the staff  and TV’s Dragon’s Den serial entrepreneur & business man James Caan all stand to have the  humbling faith in Russell thrown back in their face as a cruel garnish on top of the money they will lose.

You are a very mean person

Its a shame these companies are not forced to show if they actually do provide a good or poor service for the money. Maybe its about time that customer reviews are mandatory on their own web sites when they use the strategy to knock competitors. All reviews submitted via an independent body. Some bogus ones would get through but nothing like the real feel from the public. Being allowed to tinker with “samples” for bragging rights should be stopped, as they are produced to mislead. Some of the data is already there like instructions to fall through …. now that would be an eye opener!
