Savills strengthens residential sales teams across Essex
Savills has strengthened its residential sales teams across Essex with three key appointments.
Jamie Stephenson and Archie Bloomfield have joined the Chelmsford office and Ben Maire has joined Loughton.
Stephenson joins as an associate director and has more than 10 years’ experience working in residential sales – most recently with the Chelmsford office of Jackson-Stops and prior to that Beresfords. Bloomfield joins as a negotiator and has worked in the property industry for the last four years, most recently with family-run agents Millers in Epping.
The pair will be focused on the Chelmsford city market, alongside supporting head of residential sales Karl Manning and residential director Stephen White.
Stephenson said: “Being Chelmsford born and bred it’s a market that I know exceptionally well and I’m looking forward to working with others in the team and using my own experience and expertise to help grow the business and advise clients so they can continue to make informed decisions.”
Bloomfield commented: “I’m delighted to be working with – and learning from – such an experienced and well-respected team. The reputation of Savills was a huge draw and I was keen to join a business that has a clear route for career progression.”
Maire, who joins as an associate director, will operate in markets across west Essex, including Loughton, Epping, Theydon Bois, Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill. He has 15 years’ experience in the property sector and will work alongside Loughton head of office Felicity Walker and residential director David Bloomfield.
He spent the last five years with JLL focusing on prime and super prime properties in central London, as well as emerging areas such as Nine Elms, Battersea, Hackney and Stratford.
Maire added: “Savills has a strong network of offices in Essex and London and I’m excited to join what is already a very experienced and successful team. It’s a very robust housing market and we are looking forward to a busy end of year.”
Paul Jarman, head of region for Savills in the East of England, said: “They [the new recruits] fit our team dynamic brilliantly and their skillsets and expertise will undoubtedly help to further strengthen our capacity – underscoring our commitment to growing market share and enhancing our offering to our clients.”
Robert Watts announces three new appointments
Bradford-based estate agent Robert Watts has strengthened their team with three new appointments to the Cleckheaton, Wibsey and Lettings branches.
Stephen Schofield and Georgia Cowman will be joining the sales teams at Cleckheaton and Wibsey as the sales manager and sales negotiator respectively.
Meanwhile, Amanda Brown will be based within the lettings team at Cleckheaton as a lettings negotiator.
Managing director James Watts said: “They all bring with them a fantastic set of skills from their previous roles, both within and outside of the property industry.
“Stephen has over a decade of diverse experience from within estate agency, giving him an understanding of the nuances in the housing market and the importance of building lasting relationships. “Georgia is returning to the property industry after a break and I know is looking forward to getting stuck back into the busy estate agency environment, while Amanda has always had a passion for property and jumped at the chance of a career change into the property industry.
“We can’t wait to see what all three of our new staff members achieve in their first few months with us.” On her appointment, Amanda added: “I have lived in Cleckheaton for 23 years and know the local area very well.
“For the past 15 years I’ve been a teaching assistant, I was ready to change my career and look for a new job opportunity.
“I have always been interested in property and thought this was the right time for me so I’m really looking forward to learning more about this industry and working with the outstanding rentals team at Robert Watts.”
New Wates executive managing director appointed
Wates has announced Phillippa Prongué as the new executive managing director of its residential business.
Prongué will take up the position in the new year, taking over from Helen Bunch who is retiring after an esteemed 19-year career at Wates.
Prongué brings decades of experience from the real estate sector, and joins from Bouygues UK where she was MD for London and the South East.
Bunch, who served as executive managing director for the residential business since 2020, leaves Wates having overseen a 150% growth and a 73% increase in operating profit during her leadership.
Prongué will look to build on this growth, with over 10,000 homes in delivery or the development pipeline for the next five years.
Eoghan O’Lionaird, chief executive at Wates Group, said: “All of us at Wates are grateful to Helen for her exceptional leadership and contribution to the group. Our Residential business has grown significantly under her stewardship thanks to her drive, determination, and commitment to our purpose of delivering much needed high-quality homes for those that need them most. We will all miss her greatly and wish her the best for her retirement.
“Looking to the future, we are delighted to have Pip come on board to continue this work with her proven track record across the sector that spans many high-profile and large-scale regeneration and residential-led development schemes.
“Her expertise and knowledge will support us in driving forward our strategy, building on existing partnerships, and realising new opportunities for residential development across the UK.”
Prongué commented: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the residential business at Wates. It has already seen immense growth under Helen’s direction. I look forward to joining a team of talented people whose expertise, ingenuity, and diligence has resulted in an exceptional business with a clear purpose, culture, and ambition.”
Bunch added: “After an incredibly rewarding 19-year career with the Wates Group, I have taken the decision to retire. I am pleased to be handing over to Pip who I know will continue to support the fantastic work that the Residential team is doing to deliver the safe, sustainable and low-carbon buildings and infrastructure the UK needs.”
Wates is also in the process of hiring a new managing director for its London region and several leadership roles within its development team with a view to further strengthening and expanding the residential business.
