OVO appoints ex-Purplebricks CFO James Davies to lead finances

James Davies, who was previously in charge of accounts at Purplebricks, has joined Ovo as finance chief from Monzo, the digital bank.

James resigned as group chief financial officer of Purplebricks in April 2020, leaving the online estate agency a month later. He had been with the company since May 2017, having joined from betting giant William Hill.

During his time at Purplebricks he publicly criticised the firm’s attempt to break into the US, was not afraid to expose why its Australia business failed and denied that any of its online reviews were fake.

 

Josh Moutray-Read joins Harding Green

Josh Moutray-Read, who most recently a manager at Jackson-Stops in Chelsea, Pimlico & Westminster, has joined Harding Green.

Moutray-Read, a former director at Pace Investments, a private investment company, also worked at Marsh & Parsons in Chelsea & Marylebone.

He now plans to operate across sales, buying and lettings, after joining Harding Green under partner Ben Scrace’s team.

Moutray-Read said: “I’ve been in the property industry for well over a decade with a wealth of experience in both residential sales and lettings in prime central London, as well as in commercial property.

“Over the last six years I worked as a director for a private investment company, specialising in both the residential and commercial markets in central London & Cambridge. More recently I’ve enjoyed working in the prime residential Lettings market across West London before deciding to make a move.

“I have followed Harding Green closely over the past few years and, having a number of good friends already enjoying very successful careers here, I’m excited to join the team. I like the way the business gives individuals the freedom and opportunity to run their own companies under the Harding Green umbrella in a manner that suits them.”

United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty appoints senior director

Emre Bilgin

United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty has to announced the addition of senior director, Emre Bilgin, to its team.

With a career spanning over 15 years, Bilgin brings plenty of expertise across both residential and commercial property markets.

Prior to joining United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty, he was the founder of consultancy firm PSS London. He has a proven track record of high-profile transactions in the luxury property market.

Bilgin has primarily focussed on promoting the UK property market to a global audience, more specifically Turkey and CIS countries. Now, with the strength of a world-renowned brand like United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty and its expansive network of affiliates, he will seek to nurture these relationships further.
