Adie McCarthy-Jones

Fine & Country has announced the appointment of Adie McCarthy-Jones as business development manager.

He brings more than 18 years of experience working in the estate agency industry to the role, and will initially cover Scotland, northern England and Wales.

Most recently, McCarthy-Jones owned and operated a EweMove franchise, part of The Property Franchise Group, which he grew from the ground up to become a well-established brand. In addition, as a business development manager for EweMove, he played a key role in launching, growing, and optimising over 200 franchised businesses.

McCarthy-Jones commented: “I have been a huge fan of Fine & Country for over 14 years. The brand’s culture and the way the recruitment process was handled made it clear this was the right fit for me. Fine & Country is synonymous with personal and bespoke service, and its presence in the elite sector of the market speaks volumes.

“I’m incredibly excited to be part of a brand that aligns with my own values and passions. Feeling valued from first contact has been an extremely important part of the process and having been a business owner I am fully aware of the challenges businesses are faced with.”

Nicky Stevenson, MD at Fine & Country, added: “The combination of Adie’s strong estate agency experience, business ownership success, and forward thinking approach demonstrated within our interview process will positively strengthen the Fine & Country head office team providing valuable support to our existing network of licensees.

“After our recent acquisition by The Property Franchise Group, it is even more exciting to bring someone on board from within the group whose ethos aligns so closely with our own. I look forward to the positive impact Adie will make in driving business development and enhancing our success.”

Stephen Codner

Stephen Codner has joined Moveli. He has more than 28 years experience, including 11 years at Olivers Town, an estate agency in Camden, NW London, where he was the sales manager.

He had a brief spell at eXp but has now switched to join Moveli, the self-employed brokerage model that now has 38 brokers.

Moveli’s co-founder, Ben Littlewood, said: “It’s great to have Stephen on board. We see ourselves as the leading upper market brokerage in the UK having been designed and built for the purpose. We find this makes it easier for agents to win the best listings at higher fees.

“We’ve grown the network by almost 100% this year with experienced agents like Stephen, and expect strong growth to continue.”

SmartSearch expands executive leadership team

SmartSearch, the digital compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) solutions, has announced the expansion of its executive leadership team to support its next phase of accelerated growth.

Following significant investment from Triple Private Equity earlier this year and the appointment of Phil Cotter as CEO, SmartSearch is in a position to expand.

SmartSearch has also created new roles for two of its executive team members to further strengthen its leadership: Fraser Mitchell becomes Chief Product Officer, transitioning from his role as Technical Director to focus on the business’s strategic product direction and market-innovation.

Collette Allen transitions to chief transformation officer from her position as chief operating officer. In this role, she will be responsible for ensuring that the businesses transformation agenda is delivered in support of its long-term strategy.

The expanded executive leadership team will focus on assisting businesses in all regulated sectors in the fight against global money laundering and fraud.

Stuart Morris, chief technology officer at SmartSearch, said: “Keeping pace with the advanced technology used by today’s financial criminals is a pressing challenge for organisations in regulated industries. This is compounded by their obligation to implement the necessary checks to catch fraudsters and ensure regulatory compliance. SmartSearch is dedicated to making this process easier for businesses, and it’s an exciting time to be part of this journey.”

Eddie commented: “Software, analytics, and digital transformation have been key focus areas throughout my career, and I’m delighted to join SmartSearch as a leader in digital compliance. Maximising revenue streams will enable SmartSearch to streamline and enhance its product offerings for customers in regulated sectors, providing them with the right solutions and support to combat the rising tide of financial crime.”

Cotter added: “These strategic appointments mark a pivotal moment for SmartSearch, significantly bolstering its leadership capabilities. The addition of seasoned experts like Stuart Morris and Paul Eddie, together with the change in roles for Fraser Mitchell and Collette Allen, alongside Claire Elcock, chief financial officer, Julie Green, client services director and Rachael Rogers as interim chief people officer creates a leadership team with significant experience of delivering innovative solutions for its’ customers in a fast changing and complex regulatory environment, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the fight against global money laundering and fraud.”
