Gibbs Gillespie promotes Tim Buckley to area sales director

London-based estate agent Gibbs Gillespie, which is part of Leaders Romans Group (LRG) has promoted Tim Buckley from branch manager to area sales director.

Buckley takes on responsibility for five of Gibbs Gillespie’s 15 offices: Gerrards Cross, Harrow, Pinner, Rickmansworth and Uxbridge.

Daniel Collis, sales director for Gibbs Gillespie, said: “Tim has almost thirty years of directly relevant experience and did an excellent job in his previous role. I’m confident that this promotion will be of significant benefit to Gibbs Gillespie which is continuing to perform exceptionally well in a challenging market.”

 

Home Builders Federation appoints chief executive

Neil Jefferson

The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has appointed Neil Jefferson as its new chief executive.

Jefferson will take up the role on 1 July, stepping up from his existing position as managing director at the HBF.

Jefferson will replace Stewart Basely, who has been the HBF’s executive chairman since 2006. He will now step back and take on the role of chairman.

Jefferson served as HBF MD since early 2020. Before then, he had a 20-year career with the National House Building Council, rising to the position of chief operating officer.

Jefferson said: “I am looking forward to the challenges ahead as we look to navigate the many complex issues we face and support HBF members to deliver the homes the country needs.”

Since October 2021, Jefferson has also held a position of non-executive director at Future Homes Hub, an organisation that brings together the new homes sector with ways to address climate and environmental challenges.

Basely commented: “I have been very impressed by how Neil has helped HBF navigate the many complicated issues we have faced since he joined just over four years ago.”

 

Colliers CEO of UK & Ireland to retire from role in 2025

Colliers has announced that Tony Horrell, CEO of United Kingdom and Ireland, has decided to retire from his role in 2025.

Horrell’s decision follows his 42-year career in real estate as a capital markets expert and business leader. Since joining Colliers in 2010 He has significantly expanded the business in the UK and Ireland to create a top tier player of over 1,000 employees, with a diversified offer across transactional and advisory services.

Horrell has consistently developed the organisation through organic growth and acquisitions, focused on the needs of clients in response to evolving real estate trends during several economic cycles.

Colliers has commenced the search process for a new UK CEO and Tony will continue to lead the Colliers business as CEO for UK and Ireland until a successor is appointed.

Horrell said: “I look forward to seeing Colliers continue to excel with new leadership and focusing my time on assisting the transition and strategic client relationships in 2025.”
