Simon Kibblewhite returns to Savills from Strutt & Parker
Savills has bolstered the development team within its Chelmsford office with the appointment of experienced director Simon Kibblewhite from Strutt & Parker.
Kibblewhite has returned to Savills having first joined the Chelmsford office in 1990. He has more than 35 years’ experience working across the residential development sector, starting his career at Countryside Properties in 1986.
Kibblewhite previously spent 16 years at Savills – establishing and growing the Chelmsford development team from scratch and appointed head of office in 1997.
Under his tenure, the office became the most profitable for Savills outside of London and he also introduced a number of new service lines including new homes and planning. He was also responsible for growing the Savills development teams across the wider eastern region.
After leaving Savills, Kibblewhite joined Strutt & Parker in London where he became a board member and equity partner, subsequently joining the new board of BNP Paribas Real Estate UK after the merger of the two firms, responsible for leading the combined national development and planning teams.
Kibblewhite said: “I’m delighted to be back in Chelmsford, where I had 16 very happy and successful years. It was a hugely enjoyable time in my career and I have some very fond memories. It feels like a natural step to come back and I’m looking forward to the opportunities ahead.
“Essex is a county I know very well having lived here for most of my life. I’m delighted to be joining a very experienced team with a successful track record. The office has had a strong start to the year and I’m looking forward to building on that and using my own experiences to help drive future growth.”
Throughout his career Kibblewhite has specialised in advising landowner and developer clients on the acquisition and sale of major sites by way of outright sales, options, promotion agreements and joint ventures.
Ben Sinclair, who leads the development team at Savills Chelmsford, commented: “We are very much looking forward to having Simon back in the Savills fold. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the county and the wider region and brings a great deal of experience which will be to the benefit of both clients and members of our team alike.”
Patrick Eve, head of regional development across Savills, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Simon back on board. He has an excellent track record and has been responsible for a number of significant development sales in Essex and the wider region.
“His appointment signals our commitment to strengthening and growing our teams in response to market forces and ensuring that we continue to provide our clients with the very best service and advice.”
