Savills appoints new head of office in Cheltenham
Savills has appointed Ken Dowling to head up its residential office in Cheltenham.
Dowling joins Savills from JLL, where he ran the firm’s Kensington office, covering the prime residential markets of Kensington, Holland Park, Notting Hill and Fulham.
During his 14 years in residential property, he has worked across both sales and lettings, and has experience advising developers on new build projects.
Dublin-born and raised, Dowling first moved to Cheltenham for university, and has a long-standing relationship with the town.
Dowling said: “Savills is a business I have long admired and I am thrilled to become a part of its market-leading team in the town that I love. My move back to Cheltenham is very much a homecoming. It is where my family and friends live and despite moving away, I have always maintained close links here.
“Cheltenham has incredible appeal for a broad cross-section of buyers, with education and lifestyle being particular pull-factors. With an impressive mix of elegant period properties and striking new build homes, there is a great choice of property on offer, particularly now, as more stock comes into the market for sale. The town has long been popular with Londoners and we have noticed an uptick in interest from London buyers in recent months, a trend which will fuel the already strong market.”

Savills Cheltenham has also announced a new head of residential development sales. Omer Basharat has been promoted to lead the team, which provides consultancy, marketing advice and support for the sale of new build developments and conversions. Basharat joined Savills from Barratt Developments in 2020, bringing with him more than 12 years property experience.

Rendall & Rittner appoints new head of consultancy
Property management agency Rendall & Rittner has promoted Ross Facta to the position of head of consultancy.
Facta’s role will see him lead on the consultancy of a range of residential and mixed-use projects from concept design through to ongoing management.
He began his career in property, managing the acquisition and refurbishment of property investments in cities across the world including London, New York, Chicago and Panama. Following this, Facta joined Rendall & Rittner in 2018 as a senior property manager, before advancing through to positions as property team manager and most recently as area director for one of the company’s London divisions.
As head of consultancy, Facta will build upon his analytical abilities, as well as his desire for detail, to assist clients in the pre-construction stages of development projects. This will include providing guidance on budgets and forecasting, advice on planning requirements and compliance strategies, as well as identifying key considerations for ensuring a smooth customer journey.
Facta will ensure that Rendall & Rittner’s development consultancy offering is tailored to a variety of projects from smaller estates to larger, mixed-tenure schemes and optimises every stage of clients’ developments.

British Land names William Rucker as chair-designate
British Land has named the head of pub group Marston’s as its new chair.
William Rucker will take over from existing chair Tom Score after its next AGM on 9 July.
Marston’s noted that chair Rucker would depart a day earlier “in view of his other increased business commitments”.
Rucker, 60, is also the current chairman of asset manager Intermediate Capital Group.
As an executive, Rucker was previously head of investment bank Lazard and also housebuilder Crest Nicholson.
