Sowerbys appoint five new directors

Sowerbys estate agents in Norfolk has announced the appointment of five new directors.

Ginny Studd becomes group finance director of the company, which has nine high street offices across Norfolk, while Will Lightfoot is the new group sales director.

Carly Grigglestone has been appointed group marketing director, Ed Tyman becomes group operations and lettings director, while Paul Newell is now the local director for Holt.

Lloyd Sandy, joint managing director, said: “2020 showed us a lot about the people we work with and Max Sowerby [joint MD] and I are completely humbled by the amazing attitude shown by our teams throughout these unprecedented times.

“Last year allowed Max and I to review the structure of the senior management team, their
work has been an incredible support to the group which has enabled our teams to work with clear minds
knowing they have great support around them.”

Dacre, Son & Hartley recruits David Simm

Dacre, Son & Hartley has appointed David Simms to head up the company’s Guiseley office.

Simms, who has worked as an agent in the local area for a number of years, will will be responsible for heading up Guiseley’s residential sales team in his new role.

The office covers all of Guiseley, along with the nearby towns and villages of Hawksworth, Yeadon, Rawdon, Apperley Bridge and Carlton.

Simms said: “As a Guiseley resident who has spent many years working in the local property market, this is a superb opportunity to join a longstanding company with a strong reputation. The Guiseley office sits in a prominent position, right in the heart of the town centre, and has an established team in place selling homes across a wide geographical area and at all price points, which all added to the appeal of this role.

“I’m also joining Dacres at a particularly busy time for the local property market. The pandemic has made a lot of people reassess their property priorities, so we’re currently seeing very high demand for good sized family homes with gardens. Plus, the stamp duty holiday has also encouraged a lot of people to move home earlier than they might have been planning on, which has all created a major shortage of homes for sale in the local area.”

Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential at Dacre, Son & Hartley, added: “David is a knowledgeable and experienced estate agent who knows the local market inside out, which made him the ideal person to head up our Guiseley office.”

 

Andrew Barnes joins Savills 

Andrew Barnes, has joined Savills central London tenant representation team as a director.

Barnes has 30 years central London market experience and started out his career at Savills before moving on to JLL for seven years, he then joined DTZ to set up their tenant representation team. Andrew moved to King Sturge shortly before the firm was acquired by JLL where he has spent the last 14 years. He has advised on a significant number of major London HQ deals during his career to date.

He specialises in strategic occupational advice, and implementing acquisitions and disposals for occupiers.

Barnes said: “Savills global platform has enabled the firm to advise on some noteworthy deals during the past year and I am very much looking forward to working with the existing team to advise clients who are looking to rework their real estate.

“This third lockdown has emphasised that many employees want to get back into the office and so now is a very exciting time in the market to be able to help companies through this evolution to a more dynamic workplace.”
