House prices in UK cities are running 8.4% ahead of where they were last year, and on course to be 10% up by the end of 2015.
This morning Hometrack reported that house price inflation across the UK’s largest cities was 6.4% in the first half of this year.
The current average price for a city home is £226,200, says Hometrack.
It also says that house prices in most cities are now ahead of their previous 2007 peak.
The city where prices have accelerated most to above that peak are Cambridge (40.2%), London (37.8%) and Oxford (32%).
Cities where house prices have still not recovered include Belfast (47.8% below), Liverpool (14% below), Leeds (5.5% below) and Manchester (4.3% below).
