The Propertymark Trust is celebrating John Oakley’s tenth year as a Trustee. It says the highly experienced estate agent’s unwavering commitment and distinguished service have been instrumental in advancing the Trust’s mission of providing essential support to Propertymark members, their colleagues and families.

Oakley has been a cornerstone of the property sector for over five decades. A member of NAEA Propertymark since 1968, he retired from managing a six-branch practice in Kent to pursue his passion as a freelance property consultant. In addition to his consultancy work, he serves as an assessor and verifier for NVQs in the property sector, helping to cultivate the next generation of property professionals.
The Propertymark Trust, the registered charity of Propertymark, extends a lifeline to members, their families, and Propertymark staff. Established to offer help and support during times of hardship, the Trust provides financial assistance, educational grants, and confidential support for those facing mental or physical illness and financial difficulties. By fostering a supportive community, the Trust ensures that aspiring property professionals can achieve their goals regardless of financial constraints.
Reflecting on his decade-long tenure, Oakley said: “It has been an honour to serve as a Trustee of The Propertymark Trust. Over the past ten years, I have witnessed first-hand the profound impact of our work, providing much-needed support during some of life’s most challenging moments. I am proud to be part of an organisation that truly cares about its members and their well-being.”
Lauren Scott-Simpson, president of The Propertymark Trust, commented: “John Oakley’s dedication and compassion have touched so many lives over the last ten years. His vast experience and deep understanding of the property industry have been invaluable to our mission. We are incredibly grateful for his service and the difference he has made.”

I have known John for over 30 years and have always admired and respected his professionalism and dedication to helping others in business and via his Toastmaster roles and involvement with, initially, The Arbon Trust and now, a revitalised Propertymark Trust.

As a recently appointed Director and Trustee of the Propertymark Trust I now have the pleasure of working closely with John and enjoy the charismatic charm he brings alongside the hard work that goes into creating a charity that fully supports those that need it.

    A top man!
