Chancellors in Swindon has seen its office badly damaged after a car smashed into it.
Police were called to the scene on Commercial Road after a car had been driven into the side of Chancellors.
The female driver was treated at the scene but escaped with minor injuries – although a large bollard was smashed to pieces.
A witness described what she saw.
She told the Swindon Advertiser yesterday: “The lady driving the car was parked in the disabled spot next to the dance studio. She revved up her engine and accelerated straight across the road hit the bollard and then the car hit the building.
“I got out of my car to help and found her trying to exit her car. She was very distressed and trying to report her accident through her onboard phone.
“There was a lot of smoke and I thought the car was about to catch fire so I helped her out of the car.
“By this time a group of people had provided a chair for her to sit safely away from her car. I then left the scene to enable emergency services access to the area.”
