Britain’s favourite property presenter named.

This week sees the return of one of the shows that started the property TV revolution – Changing Rooms is back. ( Lucy Mangan, writing in the Guardian, has given the new show a one star rating and describes it as ‘design so dreadful you’ll be scarred for life’. So probably worth watching then.)
In light of the new version, presented by Anna Richardson of Naked Attraction fame, homebuilder Miller Homes has revealed Britain’s most loved property TV experts.
Miller Homes analysed the number of monthly Google searches for each UK property presenter, their TV show, and their show’s average IMDB rating. These stats were then combined together to create an overall index score to reveal who our favourite home-related TV stars are.
Dick Strawbridge, who started his career in television on the first series of Scrapheap Challenge, took the top spot, with viewers loving Escape to the Chateau, which follows Strawbridge and his wife as they help expat chateau owners to renovate their properties.
With an average of 40,500 searches a month for his name and over 60,000 searches for his TV show, Strawbridge is popular with the viewers. Escape to the Chateau also boasted the highest IMDB rating of all of the TV shows, with an average of 8.7 out of 10.
The research showed that Anna Richardson has a long way to go to make it into the ranks of the nation’s most loved property TV experts, coming 14th overall. Her Changing Rooms co-host, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen came 21st. Anna, famous for fronting a number of shows on Channel 4, replaced Davina McCall on Changing Rooms earlier this year after a scheduling conflict.
Anna does, however, have one of the highest number of Google searches per month for her name at 60,500, suggesting that her take on the cult series could be a ratings winner.
The reboot of the DIY home improvement show, which has gained international fame since its inception 25 years ago, will see two sets of homeowners from the same neighbourhood work against the clock to renovate a room in each other’s houses.

I do not believe these people looked at Google – Ask Jeeves maybe?! Kirsty in 15th behind Stacey Solomon and Anna Richardson (who has literally just aired one episode of a property programme)? And where is Phil to accompany Kirsty? How could he not be top 20?

Phil is probably hiding in a field somewhere stalking our beloved wildlife.
