Boss sells five branch agency business and thanks loyal staff

In what is being described as an undisclosed multi-million pound deal, the majority stake of a five-branch firm has been sold to a private investment company.

DDM Residential in north Lincolnshire has roots going back to 1889 and has been owned by Graham Wilson for 17 years.

Wilson will continue as a shareholder and says he will work with the new owners to help core organic growth and expand the company with strategic acquisitions into new geographical locations.

DDM Residential (Dickinson Davy & Markam) is the largest independent auction, estate and lettings agency in the region.

Wilson paid tribute to his staff, saying: ‘The biggest asset and the reason for the success and longevity of DDM Residential are the employees. They are focused, always enthusiastic, have so much energy and always put customer service first. Many have been with me since 1999 and this has not been an easy decision to step back.”

The business has 40 employees, while its lettings arm acts for over 1,000 landlords. It also operates Fine & Country Northern Lincolnshire and DDM Property Auction – which was the forerunner of today’s national business IAM Sold.

IAM Sold was formed to run DDM’s first auction, going on to run white-labelled auction services for other agents.

Without doubt one of the nicest people in the industry.

Some people talk the talk about looking after their staff, he practices it as well as anyone i’ve seen over the years.

And just goes to show that you can have a great business without stiffing everyone.

    Sounds wrong….isn’t…
