Boomin plans new TV campaign but still no official launch date

Boomin continues to drip feed information ahead of the launch of its new property portal, as part of a tightly controlled public relations campaign.

The planned new property website, which hopes to challenge the likes of Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket, was supposed to launch in December following a highly-targeted marketing campaign.

However, the launch was delayed, with a number of agents claiming that this was because the website failed to attract enough property listings from agents.

But now Boomin says that it is finally ready to move a step closer to its long-awaited launch after claiming to have secured property listings from over 50% of the top 100 agents across the UK.

“All is progressing well,” said a spokesperson for Boomin. “The exact date is yet to be decided and will be announced separately.”

“Everything is building to plan,” the spokesperson added. “The launch will be soon.”

The latest agents to sign up to Boomin are Fenn Wright, Killens, Watt & Morgan, Hern & Crabtree, Park Row, Butler & Stag, Tatlers, Ellisons, Black Katz, and Brian Cox.

According to Phil Lloyd, chief marketing officer at Boomin, founder agents will be provided with new advertising and marketing opportunities, across a range of channels, including TV.

“We have brought together more than twelve months of comprehensive national research, planning and creativity to produce an extensive campaign with genuine freshness and excitement,” he said.

The domination that Rightmove, Zoopla and to a lesser extent OnTheMarket has in this sector is hard to break down but Boomin thinks it has the has the right strategy to do it.

Michael Bruce, executive chairman and founder of Boomin, commented: “Boomin is the best hope to bring meaningful competition and real change to a market whose pricing is increasingly becoming financially unviable for the many and whose technology is outdated for all.”

“everything is building to plan” except the launch that is.  Are these adverts proof read.  Boomin continue to announce new agents signing that have already been stated in previous PIE articles.  For the love of god, do something or get off the pot.

I fail to understand why agents would wish to build a business for the same people who have tried to kill you off with their PB venture.
If you have signed up to ‘Doomin’ please explain why.

Trisha H…… I will forgive your terse presumption that I subscribe to RM for you do not know me, but if you did you would know that I have NOT subscribed to that portal for best part of six years!
Your defensive stand suggests a link of some description to Doomin, maybe you have signed up, maybe you have a financial interest?   Either way your response failed to address my comment.

If this is the start of the attack on other portal users then Doomin is certainly on it merry way of making friends in high places. Who’s brainwashed here?

And Trish, if you are not on any portal as you state “No portals do me a favour will you.” why are you even commenting???

“50% of the top 100 agents across the UK.” translated from classic Bruce spin is around 20% of the overall market.

Not enough for a successful portal to gain traction.

You may or may not be with RM TrIsha but if you were in an RM stronghold, if you quit, you’d be deadmeat. Take it from one who tried – I was back with them within 2 months having been crucified by my competition and lost instruction after instruction.

So wrong I left Rightmove 20th March 2020 when the threw the £250 pcm discount insult at our industry then caved under pressure from the ZOOPLA and OTM discounts came in.  I am 1 of 9 agents on my patch, I am still listing, still selling, still letting whilst saving Circa £20k per year by not paying them. I laugh at agents on this and other forums who slate, OTM, BOOMIN and Homesearch etc whilst they are being held in handcuffs to Rightmove out of fear thier business will fold if they leave Rightmove.

Think yourself lucky Trisha and fair play if you can do business where you are having quit RM. It’s worth you being aware that patches vary, the only way we could stay alive was to rejoin and I have staff to pay. You sound a little cocksure with your posts today – could be worth you toning down a little as pride comes before a fall!

It appears there are two things wrong with the Boomin’ proposition ! 😉

    1. Not enough traction.

    2. Not enough “other people’s money”.

This might be a stupid question but would it not make sense to have all agents and listings on launch Jan 1st to get the new year bump??

Could PIE just let us know when the next 6 announcements are coming over the next 4-9 months so that I don’t need to bother logging in to read the same story re worded.

Smacks of desperation this post. ‘Doomin’ as someone labelled them are foolish if they think ALL agents are as stupid as those who jumped eagerly on their bandwagon. Some of us have ethics, some of us are not fooled by all this propaganda they put out, some of us (like many of those desperados whose names I won’t mention but joined their wolf in sheep’s clothing agent mentoring thing) are not sucking up to the “Doomer brothers” to feed off their success. You know who you are and it is embarrassing. And if you don’t think it had any impact, then look at your stats! Speak volumes.

You can fool people some of the time but never all the time. Boomin is turning into a failure like their other enterprises? TRUST appears to be seriously lacking, I wonder why that is!

Agents will manage without them, the public are not asking for yet another also ran.
