Bank holiday provides ‘prospecting gold mine’ for estate agents

Heather Staff

Estate agency prospecting software, Spectre, has found 23% fewer letters are sent in the days leading up to a bank holiday by UK agents and lead to double the amount of conversions.

With agents usually battling for homemovers’ attention, the upcoming bank holidays provide a good opportunity opportunity for agents to engage a captive audience.

Ahead of the busy summer market, homeowners either on the market or thinking of moving are likely to be off work, at home and considering the options available to them.

Heather Staff, co-founder at Spectre, commented: “Seasonality affects the property market in a number of ways, so it’s incredibly insightful to see this latest trend in the data. Agents should make the most of this insight and consider what marketing and prospecting efforts they are undertaking in the run-up to May’s multiple bank holidays.

“Marketing budgets can be tight, so this chance to maximise the potential of your marketing activities should be cherished.”

Gosh, it must only be my area where people take full advantage of doing anything other than “the normal stuff”.

Staycation, trip abroad using the 4 day to get 9 days off…

Our phones go quiet on Bank Holiday and it’s kinda nice for the team to relax also and chill.

I shall however be sending some mailouts out today “Bank Holiday Opening Hours – Closed – See You Next Tuesday”

Hope everyone gets a nice BH weekend or two ahead.
