June 2015 is the 15th consecutive month when agents’ average percentage fee remains the same at 1.3%.
In April 2014 when it first fell to this it would have earned an average fee of £2,925.
By June 2015 this has risen by £83 due to the increase in average house price. At a time of zero inflation, that’s a net gain!
Last month’s fall in average house prices was a blip and it has now corrected itself by a month on month increase of 6.4% to £235,992.
From January to June 2015 we have seen an increase of 2.9% on average, and a year on year increase of 5.5%.
Remember, all price information is based upon actual completed house prices NOT asking prices.
The average time to receive a mortgage offer has stretched out another half day to 49 days – but still about a week quicker than last year.
* Editor’s note: The average fee quoted by Stephen Hayter, sales director of the UK’s largest conveyancing firm myhomemove, does not include VAT.
The average also does not include fees charged by online and hybrid agents.
We would like to congratulate the firm on its latest awards, which include best conveyancing practice in the What Mortgages awards, and a separate business leader award to Doug Crawford.
Well, I would rather believe this as being accurate than anything else that seems to be spilled out from lenders each month!
