Savills raised more than £30m from its latest property auction, achieving an 81% sale rate from 130 lots offered.

The August auction included residential and commercial properties, with the highest-profile residential sale a two-bedroom flat in Pimlico that sold for £725,000 – £250,000 above its guide price.

The ground and lower-ground floor property required renovation and attracted bidders looking for development potential.

Elsewhere, a two-bedroom terraced house in Bethnal Green sold for £617,000, while a four-bedroom semi-detached house in Mill Hill achieved £635,000.

A three-bedroom flat in Battersea sold for £550,000 after attracting interest from both owner-occupiers and investors.

Commercial sales included a 97.8-acre former golf club in Edenbridge, which sold prior to the auction close to its £775,000 guide, and a mixed-use freehold investment in Alton, Hampshire, which sold prior close to its £850,000 guide.

A freehold car park in Aldershot with space for eight vehicles achieved £13,000 against a guide price of £1,000.

Jeremy Lamb, director at Savills Auctions, said: “The strength of buyer demand was clear to see throughout August, with bidders remaining active despite the summer holiday period.

“Both owner-occupiers and investors continue to seek opportunities where value is evident or can be created through asset management and improvement.”

He added that Savills expected activity across the residential and commercial markets to strengthen in September.
