ARLA Propertymark names Welsh lettings agent as new president-elect

ARLA Propertymark has named a replacement for its former president-elect Richard Selwyn.

Selwyn had been named president-elect in June 2019 to replace Phil Keddie but unexpectedly stepped down in November due to personal circumstances.

Angela Davey has now been appointed president-elect of the trade body following the creation of an extraordinary presidential appointment panel (EPAP) which consisted of the ARLA Propertymark president, vice-president and chief executive, as well as a non-executive director of the Propertymark board.

The application process involved each candidate submitting a CV and attending a formal interview.

Davey started her career in the industry in 1990 as lettings manager at Royal Insurance Property Services, when she became an ARLA member.

In 2003, she was appointed head of lettings at Peter Alan, Wales’ largest agent, and last year launched the PA Black Lettings brand which specialises in high-end rentals.

She is also accredited to deliver Rent Smart Wales approved training.

Davey said: “I’m honoured to have been appointed president-elect.

“2020 marks 30 years as an ARLA Propertymark member, and I am looking forward to giving back to the association that has helped me so much during my career.

“The sector has changed significantly over the years and I intend to help the industry navigate the inevitable changes that will come during my presidency.”

Keddie said: “I welcome Angela into the ARLA Propertymark presidential team.

“Angela brings a wealth of knowledge from her years in the industry, and her unique insight into how the Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA) will develop as we move towards a regulated industry in England will be invaluable, based on her experience with Rent Smart Wales.”

I love the smell of self-important pretentious nonsense in the morning.
