ARLA launches monthly reports into PRS

ARLA has launched new monthly reports into the private rented sector, aimed at tracking key trends.

Similar to the NAEA monthly surveys, the ARLA reports will be conducted among members.

The first ARLA report, covering January, found that 27% of ARLA ‘licensed’ branches saw rents increase last year.

The highest rises were in the east of England and the lowest in Wales.

ARLA letting agents reported it takes around five viewings for a property to be taken, with regional variations. In the east, the average is three viewings and in London seven.

Offices had an average of 38 prospective tenants registered, rising to 45 in London.

The average number of managed rental properties per branch was 184. The highest was recorded in east midlands at an average of 266 per branch, while the lowest was recorded in London at 140.
