Forget the US elections, Brexit court cases or smaller Toblerones, there is another big issue on the Daily Mail newsdesk – estate agent leaflets

Journalist Liz Hoggard wrote a piece for the Daily Mail’s Femail section on Tuesday lamenting the amount of estate agent leaflets landing on her doorstep, describing them as “passive aggressive flyers”.

She wrote: “Sometimes they lay on the charm: ‘We have a buyer who loves your location.’

“Other times they make you feel guilty for being a selfish home-blocker. ‘We have a lovely family of four who are desperate to move into your area. The husband is a banker, the children have been accepted at the local school. And the finances are in place’.”

In a sign that local agents may be wasting their efforts, she says: “Gentrification means my house earns more than me — it is increasing in value year on year more than I earn.

“In comparison, I am struggling to afford my life.”

Does leafleting work for your business? Why not send a video message to us and share your views.

* The latest leaflet to drop through EYE’s letterbox is from Martin & Co and asks: “Want a stress free sale of your house? Put your feet up and trust us to help you out.”

We are urged to get “an expert view of today’s market” by calling Martin & Co’s experienced and friendly team.

“In the meantime, please enjoy a winter warmer Mulled Wine recipe, courtesy of Martin & Co.”

And there it is, a list of all the ingredients to serve 12 people.

Does it work? We are still mulling it over.
