From today there is a new section of Property Industry Eye – The Arena. It’s in the menu bar at the top of the homepage.
The Arena is the name we have given to the collection of individual forums where readers can continue talking about subjects that have started on the daily news stories and can also raise new topics for discussion.
The Arena has been launched in response to reader feedback which told us that it is a shame when a ‘hot’ topic gets moved off the homepage. The continuation of the debate and discussions rarely follows it into the archive.
But now any subject can move over to one of the forums in the Arena and there will be no limit to how long the discussion and debate can run. It will be down to you, the readers, to decide.
We are also giving you the freedom to start new topics within each forum. So if you have something industry-related that you want to discuss, it can be raised on the appropriate forum.
Anyone can view The Arena and its forums but only those who are registered subscribers to EYE (which is free of course) can post.
We have set up some starter forums and topics to get things going. One or two are a little tongue in cheek but should whet your appetite. If you see a need for extra forums in future, let us know.
For now, the starter forums should be sufficient to see a host of new topics being raised. It’s all your choice.
We hope that The Arena will be used responsibly and with professional etiquette. It would be great if the tone of debate and discussion can reflect decent standards that the vast majority of us prefer to read. Trolling, ranting and personal abuse should be left at the door of The Arena.
Please enjoy this new section of EYE and make the best use of it. We are really looking forward to seeing how it develops and we will welcome your input if you have suggestions to improve and enhance it.
EYE is already acknowledged by many to be the market leader in the delivery of news to the industry, and with your input The Arena will become a tremendously enjoyable and useful addition to the publication.
Great idea, long overdue.
