Regional property chain offloads its ‘non-core’ surveying arm

Regional chain Andrews Property Group has sold its surveying arm, Landmark Chartered Surveyors, to the SimplyBiz Group for an undisclosed sum.

Andrews’ group chief executive David Westgate said the business did not “sit centrally to the core focus of Andrews Property Group” and that it decided to sell after an approach from SimplyBiz.

Landmark was established in 2007 and operates from more than 40 sites across England and Wales.

It employs 55 people, all of whom are being retained by SimplyBiz.

Westgate said: “Landmark has grown in to an incredibly successful, well-respected and profitable operator within the surveying sector.

“We have completed a detailed process of due diligence and feel certain that in The SimpyBiz Group we have met a like-minded operator which shares the same moral fibre as Andrews – an operator which will take the business on to the next stage in its exciting evolution.”

Matt Timmins, joint group chief executive of The SimplyBiz Group, which specialises in compliance support and business consultancy services, said: “Andrews Property Group is known throughout the property sector for its integrity, professional service and quality delivery.

“These are all values that we also hold in high esteem and so expanding our own operations through the acquisition of Landmark made perfect sense.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming the Landmark team and can reassure all existing and future clients that no disruption to the high standard of service they’ve been used to will be experienced.”

Andrews, which has been in business for more than 70 years, has more than 50 branches in the south-west and south-east.
