The UK PropTech Association’s (UKPA) annual awards, held for the first time in partnership with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), have once again confirmed the role that PropTech is playing in addressing national economic and social issues and helping to tackle the climate crisis.
The event marks the collective celebration of innovation within the PropTech space and a continued recognition that the UK has a thriving PropTech sector in Europe. This is reflected in the strategic partnership approach taken with the UKGBC and MHCLG and seeks to build upon initiatives such as the PropTech Innovation Fund.
That partnership has also enabled the UKPA to reach a far broader audience and attract new entries for the awards, with over 300 people attending the event. This includes for new categories, such as the Innovation Team of the Year, which was awarded to British Land and reflects the investment the property sector is continuing to make in PropTech.
The award categories sought to recognise achievement and innovation across all areas of the PropTech ecosystem. This included driving market growth; creating a digital future; embracing digital transformation; building a sustainable future; outstanding contribution to PropTech and the special achievement award.

Sammy Pahal, managing director, UKPA, said: “Our partnership for the first time with the UKGBC and MHCLG, in hosting the awards celebrating the most successful PropTech sector in Europe, clearly demonstrates the vital role we are now playing in helping to tackle climate change and drive innovation across the property sector.
“From embracing digital transformation to building a sustainable future, PropTech is at the very heart of delivering leadership and developing solutions to the benefit of the property industry, the wider businesses that it supports and society as a whole.
“This year, thanks to this partnership and support of our sponsors Yardi, Yavica and TDS, we have introduced new categories and seen the number of attendees increase, which puts us in a very strong position to grow the event for next year.”
