More than 100 people across the estate agency industry have signed up to 100km challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
Kevin Scrupps, director of Pygott & Crone Estate Agents in Lincolnshire, is hoping to persuade as many people as possible in the industry to take part and support the British Heart Foundation. The challenge is for people to walk or run 100km between Boxing Day and the end of January; with a fundraising target of £100 per person.
The challenge is open to all, and participants are being asked to join the dedicated JustGiving team page, and promote the challenge on social media using the hashtag #BHF100K. There is also a growing club on the Strava fitness tracker where progress will be shared throughout the challenge.
The inspiration for the challenge came from Jamie Aspland, manager of the agency’s Sleaford branch, together with Gary Burr, the charity’s fundraising manager for Lincolnshire. Agents Giving, the charity for the property industry, is supporting the challenge.
Scrupps commented: “This is a great opportunity to get everyone involved in exercise, it is also team building for companies. There is no doubt 2020 has been challenging in many ways for so many, our frontline NHS Doctors and Nurses along with so many other key workers and volunteers have been amazing. This gives us an opportunity to support a great charity who continue to support research into all heart and circulatory disease.”
“We have had an amazing response so far from our staff, local businesses, and our friends in Lincolnshire; the support from our industry and associated suppliers has been amazing.”
Several familiar faces have signed up to the challenge including Peter Knight, Simon Whale, Josh Phegan, Gary Barker, Stephen Hayter, and Pete Fenwick. Estate agents and suppliers across Britain are represented; including Dawsons, Paramount, Lawson, Barbers, Newton Fallowell, Iamproperty, Reapit, Brief Your Market, and Moneypenny.
Burr commented “This has been a massive success and it’s all down to the support and hard work from Jamie and Kevin. Every pound raised will help support live saving research. As a charity we have struggled badly during COVID but these funds will be a much needed boost. It’s great to raise money but just as important that people will be healthy and active during the challenge.”

This is an absolutely fantastic initiative from such a brilliant estate agent ( and Relocation Agent Network colleague ) in aid of a well deserving charity.
Such impressive ambition and great to see so much support from around the industry.
.PS Two colleagues from Thomas Morris have just signed up.
