Agents disaffected by OTM are called into action

Agents who have received legal letters from OnTheMarket and others who would like to quit – including those who have only recently joined – are being rallied into action.

Industry consultant and trainer Iain White, whose clients include Choices whose chairman is Simon Shinerock,  is organising a meeting in London on May 9.

White has sent out this email:

Dear all

It is clear that their [sic] is a divide between OTM agents with a significant volume of agents who have emailed asking to join the discussion as they feel misled into signing up with OTM.

The responses we have fall loosely into 3 categories as below.

1. Those who have given notice and have received a threat of legal action from OTM and some who are already some way down the line with solicitors instructed on both sides.

2. Agents who would like to be able to come away from OTM, some have given notice but not yet received any threat of legal action and some who have as yet not acted on their desire to move away from OTM due to fear of costs and outcome of any legal threat from OTM

3. Agents who are more recent subscribers to OTM but believe they have made a mistake and would like to leave OTM

A legal professional will speak to the group and answer questions on the day.

To this end we need a number of things from you as below

1. Can you attend a meeting in London on the 9th May at 10am address TBC when numbers are known

2. Which category best describes you from above 1,2 or 3

3. Which portals are your properties displayed on at present

4. Can we name your company to other organisations such as press or industry commentators as agents who have been in contact and or will be attending the meeting on the 9th.

If your position does not align to the above please could you describe your position in as much detail as possible.

Thanks in advance of your reply

Why any “high street” agent wouldn’t want this to be a success is beyond me. Perhaps they enjoyed quietly bleating about portal costs and data ownership after all?

Can Eye send along a reporter disguised as an unhappy agent to report back? Sure a poster could volunteer?

I may be a bit naive here but why is this guy taking such interest in this? Why is there so much hate and desire to see OTM fail? If you don’t want to use them then don’t. This whole back and forth argument has been going on for the best part of 2 years now and is surely running out of steam! The issue here is between the agents that want to leave and OTM, as usual it is being used as some grandstanding witch hunt again!

You may want to look at the history of individuals involved and what they could profit from it.

Too much to go into on here but have a look at a few of the key individuals, then look at what they could gain from.

      1. A class action

      2. Demise of OTM

      3. Ask your self where you think the fighting fund is coming from and where that fighting fund advertises.

Should be able to connect the dots. Of course some of those dots will say they have no agenda but i guess you need to make your choice.

Very short meeting. “Well, it seems you all signed contracts and you’re legally bound to them until they run out. Thanks for turning up everyone!”

Exactly why does Mr Shinerock so want OTM to fail?
