Our story last week on industry trainer Julian O’Dell raising money for Macmillan by ‘selling’ drawings drew a moving response from one reader.
Julian’s wife Caterina has cancer and was until this year a partner in estate agents Thomas Morris.
Simon Miller, who runs his agency, Simon Miller & Co in Maidstone, Kent, lost his wife and business partner Amanda to breast cancer on July 9 after an eight-year battle.
Amanda had helped her husband set up the estate agency business in 2000 and the couple had four children.
Simon sent the picture below of Amanda and has asked Julian to do a pencil drawing from it.
In return, Simon will donate £100 – or more.
Simon’s tribute to his beloved wife is at the link here, and he tells EYE: “If I can help any of your readers deal with issues related to this terrible experience, I would be happy to talk.”
If anyone would like to contact Simon, please email the editor of EYE and we’ll pass your messages on in confidence.
Mr Miller – sorry to hear of your loss. I can only start to imagine how the past years have been for you – my wife had a ‘scare’ which thankfully proved to be nothing sinister. That was torture enough.
Having seen his work on Twitter, I have no doubt that Julian’s memorial to your wife will be amazing.
I wish you well.
P.
