Agent proves it does sell number of properties claimed, after complaint to advertising watchdog

A complaint against agent Curchods has been informally resolved.

The Surrey firm agreed to remove a claim about the average speed at which it sold properties, but was able to substantiate its claims about the number of sales it makes.

A spokesperson for the Advertising Standards Authority said: “In two direct mailings Curchods included claims about how quickly they are able to sell properties and exchange contracts, as well as the total value of sales they’ve generated in one year.

“A complainant challenged whether these claims could be substantiated, so we approached the advertiser with these concerns.

“Curchods agreed to remove marketing material with claims about the average speed of exchange contracts.

“Curchods also included conditions in places where they make claims about sales per hour and were able to substantiate their claims about the number of sales they made in one year.

“On these grounds, we concluded that the complaint was informally resolved.”

Really impressive marketing – glad to see Curchods can back it up with figures.  Every 90 minutes Curchods sell a property in Surrey (during working hours).
