Agent ordered to pay former employee over £21,000 in unfair dismissal case

Estate agents Howard Cundey LLP have been ordered to pay over £21,000 to a former employee.

The tribunal found that Mrs A Hutchings was unfairly dismissed by the firm, which has been ordered to pay a compensatory award of £17,587.

Howard Cundey LLP was also found to have made an unauthorised deduction from Mrs Hutchings’ wages.

In total, the tribunal has ordered a payment to her of £21,143.

Howard Cundey LLP, which is now in liquidation, made a number of staff redundant. It had operated from ten offices in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

A testimonial which can still be seen online pays tribute to the skills of Ally Hutchings, lettings manager at East Grinstead in Sussex. https://www.howardcundey.com/testimonial/east-grinstead1/

According to an earlier tribunal case, Howard Cundey LLP  had cut staff pay by 30%, in breach of the ACAS Code of Practice. In that case, the tribunal last November ordered payment of £28,000 to another former employee.

While Howard Cundey LLP is in liquidation, Howard Cundey Live now operates a different model – offering a 24/7 service from hubs, and charging from £599.

Well I guess we know why they are crowd funding. I wonder if potential investors are aware of this?

Says they are crowdfunding on their website but when you click on the link they are nowhere to be found on the crowd funding page?

I noticed they had a live advert over the Christmas period, had woeful interest. Would not surprise me if they have pulled it and will relaunch it in the future.
