An agent is looking to turn himself into a franchise founder.
Sean Dickson, a former agent with Rochester-based RedDoor Homes, has set up a company called Easy Online Agent that will aim to provide the technology and support services behind a new franchise network.
Dickson, who left RedDoor Homes last year, fronted the agency’s award-winning entry with his Seany Claus character in Property Industry EYE’s 2016 Christmas Video competition.
He has since set up as a self-employed agent and has established Easy Online Agent at the same time, and is looking to build a franchise first in south Wales with a view to going nationally.
Dickson says he wants to compete with the likes of EweMove and Purplebricks.
Agents will be able to use Easy Online Agent branding or their own and will have access to custom-built software to manage leads, instruction and sales progressions.
Franchise members will be able to choose their own fees and could charge through a commission or upfront basis.
Sellers would also be able to use the technology to follow transactions.
There is an initial investment of £999, which covers the set-up of the franchise. This will include a website and email address of the agent’s choice, portal advertising fees, their first set of advertising boards, and their own designated patch of clients.
Dickson said: “Depending on the business they produce, successful franchisees will make anywhere between 30%-50% of their sales figures and will even take cut of any monthly letting management fees they produce giving them a monthly income too.”
“To free up their time, they’ll have a franchise support team to deal with any property management, leads and progression queries giving them more time to build their business.
“We’ll be initially launching the franchise in south Wales with the view to eventually go national. We will however consider anyone outside of the area depending on their experience.”
Here is a reminder of his alter ego from his own 2017 Christmas Video competition entry.
Hope his logo isn’t orange…

Just over 100 listing for EweMove? That would be crazy if it was true as we listed over 4,500 properties in 2017 (excl rentals). I do wonder where these random statistics come from……
