Chestertons is the latest agent to go green with its fleet of company cars.
It is planning to switch its fleet of around 60 vehicles to all-electric BMW i3s, with half set to hit the streets next month brandishing a slogan stating “leading the charge” against a purple background.
The London agent is also in the process of changing its energy supplier so that all of its 33 branches in the capital use only renewable providers.
Guy Gittins, managing director of Chestertons, said: “We are constantly embracing new technology to improve our efficiency and are very proud to now be using it to do our bit to reduce pollution and improve air quality in London.
“We have been wanting to make the move to electric vehicles for a while, and this year, after switching to electric for a couple of the branches, we decided that improved electric car technology and the increased availability of charge points across the city have now made it entirely practical to replace our entire fleet.
“Our staff have been involved with the trials and are all extremely supportive and excited about our road to becoming the first zero-emissions estate agency.”
It follows a similar move by Stirling Ackroyd which acquired a fleet of the eco-friendly BMW vehicles last month.
