Yorkshire-based agent Manning Stainton has announced the launch of ‘Mannings for Macmillan 2016’ on behalf of cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
It is the third time the agent has chosen Macmillan as the main focus of its annual fund raising, which in total has generated the astonishing sum of over £130,000.
The money has been used to pay for a specialist breast cancer nurse at St James’s Hospital in Leeds.
Colleagues from the agent’s network of 19 offices will be taking part in a range of activities throughout the year.
Mark Manning, sales director at Manning Stainton, said: “I am immensely proud of the way the entire company, as well as family, friends and our contacts in the local business community, have embraced our previous fund raising efforts.
“Cancer affects far too many people, including those nearest to us.”
Last year, Manning Stainton founder Russell Manning won a lifetime achievement award at the Yorkshire residential property awards, partly in recognition of his firm’s commitment to the community.
His late wife Amanda, who worked alongside him, died of breast cancer.
In addition to Macmillan, Manning Stainton also helps local schools, clubs and youth organisations through its community support programme. In 2015 the agent made donations to over 100 such groups, totalling in excess of £65,000.
