Agent appears in court charged with 16 counts of fraud

A Cumbrian land and estate agent appeared in court yesterday, charged with 16 counts of fraud.

Donald George Scott, of Bolton Low Houses near Wigton, appeared before magistrates in Carlisle .

He did not enter any pleas.

Five charges relate to making or supplying an article for use in fraud and date from April 1, 2010, to September 22, 2010.

The remaining 11 offences involve fraud by abuse of position and date from March 31, 2010, to January 21 this year. There are four alleged victims.

All charges relate to his company, the Wigton-based Donald Scott Land and Estate Agents.

The case was adjourned to Carlisle Crown Court on September 14.
