Distinctive advertisements are being taken out in the daily press by Savills – not advertising any properties for sale, but trying to recruit sellers.
The advert – which for example appeared across a half page in the Telegraph yesterday – says: “Looking to sell? With thousands of registered buyers at the ready, we’ll find yours, quicker.”
The accompanying images are simply drawings of people.
Alison Dean, head of B2C marketing at Savills, said: “This is an extension of the campaign we ran in spring this year, on posters across the London rail and underground network, on buses and in Saturday and Sunday magazines.
“It worked well for us, so this autumn we are extending the schedule to include daily papers.
“Whether this is a first or not I can’t say – ads or flyers to prospective sellers are pretty well used – so we have just tried to find another way to express the fact that we have large numbers of applicants registered on our database. “
What is the story? So they are advertising for business, have I missed something? They advertise regularly in my area.

Possibly the story is that they are using traditional print media – at a time when ‘it’s all going online innit’ ?

Advertising in newspapers to seek instructions. Why has no-one ever thought of this before?

Hmmm… press advertising. An “interesting” subject, to say the least.
There are those that swear by it… there are those that swear at it.
Here’s my current view – and it’s a view I’ve always had.
If you don’t do it, it’s guaranteed not to deliver you a single enquiry.

“…head of B2C marketing at Savills…”
‘Ridiculously Unnecessarily Pompous’ title of the decade, perhaps…?

“Whether this is a first or not I can’t say…”
Geez – and this person has a job…? Never mind one with a Ridiculously Unnecessarily Pompous title…
