This week, we have seen extremes of topics, which always creates a robust debate – one of the best ways to learn and form your own views!
As a landlord myself, I am not too keen on seeing a post that says …
1 Property prices could fall by 50%
However, this discussion illustrates the benefits of a collective of opinion or “hive mind” as I like to call it.
Many people have joined the discussion and shared their views. This activity goes a long way to dispelling negativity and helping people “keep the faith” with property investment and BTL.
2 Never been a better time to invest in property
In complete contrast, Mortgage Broker Mark Alefounder is highly confident about the future of BTL and gives compelling reasons why “NOW” is a great time to get involved.
Earlier this week, we visited City Hall in London to catch up with the Deputy Mayor of London, Richard Blakeway, to find out how the London Rental Standard was impacting on the capital one year after launch and how landlords and lettings agents can get involved and use LRS accreditation as a marketing differentiator.
4 Happy 6th Birthday to Property Tribes!
Today is the 6th birthday of PropertyTribes.com.
From a small community of me and 30 of my landlord friends, we have grown into one of the UK’s busiest sites for landlords and a key content influencer and commentator.
We are currently ranked by Alexa as the 2,780 busiest website in the UK – and what’s more, it was all achieved without a single penny spent on marketing!
We average around 2,300 visitors per day and around 20,000 page views per day … and growing!
Meanwhile, our YouTube channel has just topped 100,000 views and we have around 250 hours of video watched per month!

5 Join me at the NALS Conference in York on March 3
Just to give the heads up that I will be speaking on managing your on-line reputation at the first ever NALS “Northern” Conference, taking place in York on March 3.
With most industry events being so “London-centric” it’s great to see NALS reaching out beyond the capital and being more inclusive to agents in the regions.
The NALS Conference is open to anyone with an interest in the private rented sector and you can find out all the details and book your tickets by visiting the Conference microsite
