Three individuals have been served with Prohibition Notices by Powys Council which maintains the Estate Agents Public Register.
All are now prohibited from engaging in estate agency work.
Jason Gary Butler, was convicted upon his own confession, on 22 March 2018, at Leeds Crown Court (Case reference T20177045) of a single offence of Cheating the Public Revenue in the sum of £9,875,806.
On 26 March 2018 Mr Butler was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment with an additional 6 months imprisonment to be served consecutively in relation to a Crown Court restraint Order.
He had previously engaged in estate agency work.

Sarah Hannah Louise Brown was convicted upon her own confession, on 05 February 2018, at Swansea Crown Court (Case reference T520180047) of Wounding/Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm (“GBH”) and Possessing an Offensive Weapon in a Public Place.
On 14 March 2018 Ms Brown was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended for 12 months with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement of 35 days, an unpaid work requirement of 240 hours a compensation order of £2000, a victim surcharge of £140 and was ordered to pay costs of £340 in relation to the wounding/Inflicting GBH.
No separate penalty was imposed in relation to the possession of an offensive weapon.
Ms Brown had previously engaged in estate agency work.

David Clark was convicted after trial, on 27 June 2018, at Birmingham Crown Court (Case reference T520180047) of Murder contrary to Common Law.
On 12 July 2018 Mr Clark was sentenced to life imprisonment with a recommendation of a minimum period of 15 years before he may be considered for release.
Mr Clark was, at the time of the offence, a Manager in the Block Management Department of an estate agency.

Whilst totally justifiable in their being served, it is highly interesting that only one of these three Prohibition Orders have been served as a result of actual wrongdoing in the line of work in Agency.
There are multitudinous cases of Agents who should not be allowed back into our industry that appear to crawl under the bar – which actually seems to be set so high you could drive an artic under it without scraping the roof.
Speaks volumes about the “authorities” that are supposed to be in charge.
