A well known industry supplier has worked together with a local, family-run, bakery to provide treats for care home staff who are working tirelessly during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Jerry Lyons and Wendy Reed run content marketing company The Estate Agent Content Club and bought £200 worth of baked goods from Burt’s Bakery, which were donated yesterday to three care homes across Seaford in East Sussex.
The donation was made on behalf of The Karma Club, which is the charitable arm of Wendy and Jerry’s business. It helps different community projects and groups each month, locally and globally.
Jerry said: “One of our clients, Aaron Kirk from The Property Cloud did a similar thing in Kent, and I thought we could do the same in the town we live. I approached the local bakery because I know they have been supporting the community and NHS workers since the outbreak, and they were delighted to help.
“There’s a lot of good people doing great things during these bad times, especially estate agencies showing that community care is more important right now than market share.
“We wanted to do something positive for the people who are essential to our society, yet so often overlooked.”
The care homes donated to were Nova House, Freshford Cottage and Threeways.
Kerry Cody from Nova House said: “We are overwhelmed by this generosity. This has certainly boosted morale for everyone during this extremely busy time.”
