epropservices, the parent company of Fine & Country and The Guild of Property Professionals, has announced that Gary Barker, CEO of Reapit, has joined the board. At what is a clearly challenging time, he has waived taking any fees.
As a senior tech figure in the property sector for over 20 years, Barker is responsible for driving vision, overall direction and strategy of The Reapit Group, a property software provider of CRM and property management specialising in the residential property sector.
Barker has been a member of the management team since 2007 is also a member of the board of Agents Giving, the industry charity for the property sector.
Barker said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the board and work with the existing talented team.
The epropservices group is well positioned to deliver not just industry leading services, but also technology solutions and innovation to all its Members and Licensees and I am hoping that my experiences to date can be of support,”
Group CEO of epropservices, Jon Cooke, said: “It is great to welcome Gary to the team.
His appointment to the board and senior team will allow epropservices to continue to focus on innovation and tech development. Technology has always played an important role in the industry, none more so than in our current situation.”
Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild, added: “Due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Guild had to go virtual far quicker than we had initially planned.
We are very pleased that Gary is joining the board, as his experience and expertise will allow The Guild to carry on with tech innovation, both now and in the future.”

This article lead me to check to see if EasyProperty were still going! To my shock they are! Guess their Valley’s and North Wales 125 listings must be worth maybe £20m? Toscafund poured £14m (That we know about) The Guild kind of bought them along with the £11m debt (that we know about) then last year sold them to Evolve (for a figure we don’t know about!) Talk about dodgy dealing and tax dodgesl, all EasyProperty have done is make sure investors don’t pay the tax man. Both of my businesses posted a profit (so not an £11m loss) Both have access to the internet so guess I’m worth £40m … overtaking everyone’s other forgotten favourite Doorsteps. Happy lockdown everyone.

If you regard Tosca as a group-think victim of disruption there was a point in time were the tailors had convinced the king that disruption was the go. With one king convinced so were others.
To sell property all one had to do is whack stuff on the web and job’s a goodun, sorted
The fear of missing out spread across the industry at their level so it was natural that they would grab some action while it was about.
The deal with F&C was no different to Connells/Hatched or Platt’s retail strategy and several other people who dabbled with disruption it was an attempt to recoup the rewards of doing what those around them were doing and with a spread bet backing of another disruptor, if it had come off as it looked like it had in June17 they had made the right decision.
Traditional agency has withstood repeated attempt to disrupt it since 1986 and disruption was never going to be any different.
The industry will be disrupted now but not by disruption, professional agency is back in town again- F7C and the Guild are very well placed to benefit from that especially with Gary Barker on the team.
