Agent bans walk-ins to combat spread of coronavirus

An agent has banned walk-ins.

The agent has stuck a sign on its branch window deterring passers-by from coming in unless they have a pre-booked appointment.

A tweet, now removed by the agent, said that anyone without an appointment was prohibited from entering after he experienced several walk-ins that were “a complete waste of time and could have phoned”.

We are certainly sanitizing before/after any visitor, moving chairs back, asking people politely to keep their distance.

We have owners asking us to do viewings for obvious reasons …….so, today there will be detailed discussions about how we move forward.

    Serious, responsible times.

No problems with precautions in the current climate but what a poor attitude. A poor agents time waster is a good agents future customer. Often when the phrase “Time Waster” is used I find the time waster is the person working in a customer facing industry with such a poor attitude to people. Mr Martin should consider permanently socially distancing himself from customers.

I have ordered a nice rope stand to barrier my staff and customers so that we can still help them but at a distance. I have already written to all my clients individually asking them for permission for us to still carry out viewings. 90% response are happy for us to keep calm and carry on.   I appreciate we have to be careful but I do offer excellent customer service and want to continue my business long term.   Worrying times for us all and all businesses but we are a stoic lot so thinking caps on and help each other with good ideas

We have closed the office to visitors without an appointment.  Its not just about “keeping calm”, its about reducing social contact as requested by the government to keep the pressure off the already overloaded hospitals.  Not sure about this remote viewing though.  I don’t think I’d want to rent a property I’d only seen on screen!   Our negotiators are standing outside empty properties for viewings rather than walking people round for now.

Do let us know where you are. I’ll bring me swag bag and lift a few bits on me way round while your neg is standing outside…

I apologise that my pathetic attempt at a little humour has failed to hit the spot. Must try harder.

hardly even an attempt at humour was it.   It was just an unnecessary dig at an agent who is acting sensibly in a pretty difficult and stressful time.

Actually, thinking about it, there might be a loo roll or two. I’d have them away.

(Sorry seenitall; I expect that is not remotely funny either.)
