Foxtons has made its first foray into residential auctions.
The London agent has launched a trial with digital auctions platform BidX1 to see how 18 listings sell under the hammer.
Bidding on the properties starts on February 25 and guide prices range from £165,000 to £850,000.
Foxtons said in a statement: “As London’s leading estate agent, our priority is to deliver exceptional service and choice for our customers.
“We are pleased to be working with BidX1 to provide customers with a digital auction service for select properties listed with Foxtons.
“This project is currently in trial stage and involves a small number of properties.
“Foxtons has always been an early adopter of technology and we continue to trial and embed innovative applications in order to maintain the most resonant customer offering in the marketplace.”
Most of the properties appear to be new listings, although its most expensive lot at 55 Kennington Road, with a guide price of £850,000, seems to have previously been listed with SDL Auctions at £975,000 in 2018.
EYE has queried this with Foxtons and asked if vendors are given the option between sale or auction.
