Housing minister Brandon Lewis to speak at NAEA conference

Housing minister Brandon Lewis is due to be speaker at the NAEA conference on February 24 in London.

The conference has as its theme Agents for Change.

The venue is Lancaster London Hotel.

Simon Gerrard, president of NAEA, said: “It’s great that Brandon Lewis has agreed to speak at our conference.

“Housing will play a key issue in the May general election and it is important that our delegates hear directly from the housing minister what both the industry and a future government should be focusing on going forward.

“The 2015 conference offers attendees the opportunity to learn, develop and prepare for the future. This year we have a number of authoritative speakers lined up to pass on their expert knowledge and discuss a wide range of topical and practical business issues.

“Property professionals can attend in the knowledge that they will leave the conference up to date on all essential residential property sector information.

“It is also a great opportunity to learn from others in the industry who face similar obstacles.”

Many agents have already signed up, said the NAEA, while non-members are also welcome at the conference.

NAEA? what's that then? When I first started in the business NAEA was a respected trade association for Estate Agents. Peter Bolton King did away with that about 6 years ago and we haven't heard much about it since. They even closed down Propertylive, an agent owned Portal that was free to list; a bit like OTM but it never managed to do very much.
How about Simon declares an amnesty for all the FNAEAs who abondonded NAEA as a result of King's meretricious reign.

Spot on Benay! – I hope that at some point in the future when all the fuss regarding OTM / AM has died down NAEA are in the spotlight for a shake up or another offering. I would happily subscribe to a body that promotes, protects and help agents. Strange how propertylive is more relevant now than ever! – You would have thought with the supposed clout NAEA have it would have been a success. Fingers must be pointed at them and leadership, obviously hunger and want for the idea (as we seen from OTM) but NAEA were not able to deliver. Can only mean leadership and direction is wrong
