Commisery vanishes as new advertising campaign tells public ‘You’ll be totally sold’ on Purplebricks

Purplebricks has launched a new advertising campaign – without any sign of commisery.

Instead its message is: “You’ll be totally sold.”

It features a couple, Tony and Judy, who say they are totally sold by the service they received from their Local Property Expert, Sebastian.

The pair had thought Purplebricks was purely online – but discovered otherwise.

The advert looks very compliant with warnings clear at the end that extra is charged for viewings, and that a fee is charged regardless of whether the property sells or not.

I love the smell of bullsh!t in the morning.

The Lpe was available anytime? I very much doubt that – they were far too busy working 70 hour weeks for little or no pay. This is especially misleading now that they don’t even have the back up of their head office 24/7!!!

come on ASA do your job.

More chance of Purplebricks selling a house than the ASA or Trading Standards taking the purple charlatans to task.

Extra is charged for viewings, and that a fee is charged regardless of whether the property sells or not.

This should be shown all the way through the advert.  It should also be part of the verbal pitch and they should also make it clear they are CHARGING UPFRONT OR AFTER 10 MONTHS.  If it’s the 10 Month option then it’s a condition they use their panel solicitor who will charge DOUBLE the fee compared with a local solicitor.

Truly inspiring, a touch of pure marketing genius, well done Purple Bricks.

Their shares continue to rise, and why wouldn’t they, they are truly inspirational, a ground breaking innovative company with huge market potential.

They are  a Teflon company, they publish disappointing news and still their shares continue to rise.

The future is bright, the future is Purple.

“Their shares continue to rise, and why wouldn’t they, they are truly inspirational, a ground breaking innovative company with huge market potential.”

What a moronic statement to make. The share price is (roughly) a third of what it was this time last year with no signs of real recovery in sight.

Hardly the actions of a  “ground breaking” or “innovative” company.

The future is most definitely not purple.

      “Their shares continue to rise…”

      But listings continue to fall.

That little inconvenient factoid won’t impress any investors in a hurry.

Last 3 days listings down 30% on 2018 same period (same days, not dates).

Down 14.3% on first 6 days.

      “…they are truly inspirational…”

I suppose they are – if “less income… more central costs” is inspiring to any sane business owner in kind of way.

But of course poor Prophet’n’Loss fails to comprehend basic business principles, so I guess to his sort the future is purple.

Just like a bruise before it yellows and fades to nothing.

“The advert looks very compliant with warnings clear at the end that extra is charged for viewings, and that a fee is charged regardless of whether the property sells or not.”

    But is it?

“Fixed fee payable regardless of sale” means what, precisely, to ‘yer average’ person on the street?

As I have said on numerous occasions previously, a disclaimer has to be “bold, precise and compelling”.

    Surely it should state

“Fixed fee payable whether your property sells or not – of which there is a **% chance it won’t”.

That way they can have fun inserting outrageous statistical *********** (credit: Jonnie) for us all to disprove and keep the ASA busy with all the ensuing informal resolutions for yet more breaches of their ‘code’…

It reminds me of those Wonga ads and look what happened to them!

They should be made to state the fact that most LPE’s block their clients numbers as soon as it goes under offer, that they have just reduced their so-called sales progressors by over 100 and that they invariably over-value a property for the instruction.

Other than that, they’re doing a cracking job of continuing the myth that all agents are rogues.
